ADOBE - Best Portfolio Award
Award:
The students have been working on a portfolio of images that showcases their best work. The portfolios, like the students, are all different and each represents two years of hard work. What makes one better than the rest is hard to say, perhaps it is an attention to detail, beautiful lighting, amazing digital work, all three or more. We are just happy we don't have to judge. From all the Faculty and Staff good luck to all who submitted and congrats to all the Second Years on completing their final portfolios.
JUDGE:
Amanda Maria Picanco was born and raised in a small town outside of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her passion for photography started at the young age of seven when her parents bought her her first camera. Growing up she was known as the girl who always smiled and always had a camera around her neck, capturing every moment she could.
She decided to further her knowledge by enrolling in the photography program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. She is now the Junior Producer at Garage Clothing in Montreal.

Judge’s Comments:
Her portfolio is condensed to her best images and I can see the theme throughout all the images. Starting with her main page and introduction pages, they're simple, to the point and on brand, setting the tone for the rest of her portfolio. Her portraits are stunning and the use of dark blacks and colour cohesively throughout each page is so pleasing to the eye. Subtle pinks and blues in one image leads into more use of the colour on the next page. The images of the model with the old phone are some of my favourites! The use of blacks and colour bleeds into her product and nature shots which are all beautifully done. Ending with her logo and links to her instagram and website with the same branding as she started with brings the whole thing together.
Congratulations Maddison and to the rest of the graduating class!
