Paul Grace Memorial Award
Award:
This award recognizes a graduating student of the photography program who obtained a grade point average equal or higher than 3.0 (B) despite overcoming an academic path filled with challenges in recognition of their hard work. The recipient demonstrated perseverance, dedication, and exemplary attendance throughout their studies.
Jocelyne Héroux graciously donated this award in memory of her life partner, Paul Grace.
Paul, an Ottawa native, studied Photography at Sheridan College. After a brief period as a commercial photographer, he accepted the position of Technician in the Photography Department at Algonquin College in 1974.
After completing managerial courses, Paul joined the Procurement department in 1984. In 1989, Paul joined La Cité and retired as Manager of Procurement and Auxiliary Services in 2006. All through the years, Paul has always maintained his love for photography.
Paul passed away on August 25, 2020, from a Glioblastoma multiform.
A committee established by the Photography Program Faculty selects the recipient of this award.
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Paul Grace Memorial Award is Meghan Murray.
Meghan brought fun and creativity to her classmates and professors in the classroom through all she was going through. She was dedicated to learning and applying what she inside and outside of class. Great work, Meghan!
