STUDENT JOBS
As you may be aware, Algonquin College has a mandatory vaccination policy in place: Mandatory Covid-19 Policy. If students cannot be vaccinated, an exception document is required. Please be aware that the student you hire may not have been fully vaccinated and you are responsible for verifying the student’s vaccination status. In no way is Algonquin College libel for clients contracting COVID-19.
Thank you for thinking of our Students for your upcoming event or project. Appropriate job requests once received and vetted will be emailed directly to the Photography Students on mass. Please fill out the form on the right to submit your request, all information submitted will be forwarded directly to the students.
Over the course of a school year we receive over 500 requests, as such the site Administrators and Faculty do not follow up with each request. It is up to the Students to respond to these requests, if they have the time or interest.
**If you have not received any enquiries from Students after one week, chances are they are unavailable for your job.
Paid Work
While we are very happy to pass on job requests to the Students, we believe that they should be paid a fair price and given credit for their work.
Volunteer Work
If your event or project is associated with a charity organization we would also be happy to pass on your request to the Students, as long as the proper credit is given to the Students for their work.
We do not want to compete with Professional Photographers working in the field. If we feel that your request is beyond the scope of the Students we will recommend one of the Program Alumni or other Professional Photographers working in that field.
Student Timetable
There are two times during the school year, due to the Student’s workload and exams, that we will not accept student job requests:
- December 01 to January 07
- April 01 to May 01
We also do not accept job requests during these times as the Program is not in session:
- June 15 to August 23
